The King's Head (now private dwellings)

The King's Head was situated on South Street. This pub closed around 2004 and has now been converted to residential use.

The pub was supposedly haunted by the apparition of "Geranium Jane", so called because Jane was killed by a falling pot of geraniums when it fell on her head. Her death my have been murder, as Brooks suggested that she may have been pregnant as a result of a relationship with the then landlord. Consequently, Jane only appears to men. Other phenomena that have been attribued to her include hiding objects, switching lights on and off, and being pushed in bed. Intense chills have also been reported.

It is not known if any phenomena continue after the premises use changed, and the privacy of the current occupiers should be respected.
